The Visible Learning research of John Hattie reflects that students who have an awareness of HOW to learn as well as WHAT is taught, learn best.
Learner Dispositions refer to the way in which learners engage in and relate to the learning process. Learning dispositions affect how students approach learning and therefore the outcomes of their learning.
Students have been taught explicitly about FIVE key dispositions and have learnt strategies to apply them when learning. Teachers will support students to reflect and apply these dispositions as they go about their learning.
The Empire Bay Learner Dispositions are:

Empire Bay Public School acknowledges Australia's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, the Traditional Custodians of waterways, lands and skies across Australia. We thank them for sharing and caring for the land we live, learn and play on. We pay our respects to the Elders of past, present and future, and we share our friendship and kindness to all that visit us.
